Planning tips & FAQ
How many photos will I receive from one roll?
A roll of 35mm film usually contains up to 36 exposures, but this doesn't mean you'll necessarily receive 36 final photographs.
Some frames may not make the final gallery because of blinking, movement, exposure, focus or other little unpredictable things that come with shooting analogue.
How many rolls of 35mm film should we add?
It depends on how much of your day you'd like captured on film. Because each roll has a limited number of frames, the longer your coverage, the more rolls I recommend so I can use film naturally throughout the day rather than having to save it for only a few moments.
For shorter coverage, one roll can be a lovely addition, while longer wedding days usually benefit from a few rolls to give you a more consistent mix of digital and film throughout your gallery.
Can our wedding be photographed entirely on 35mm film?
Yes! My standard wedding packages are designed around digital photography, with 35mm film included or available as an addition depending on the package.
However, if you're dreaming of a wedding photographed entirely on film, I'd love to hear about it. Film-only coverage works a little differently, so get in touch and I can create something that suits your plans.
What film stocks do you use?
I shoot a mix of film stocks depending on the light, location and overall feel of the day. Some of my favourites include Kodak Portra, CineStill, Fuji and Ilford for black & white film.
I’ll normally choose what I think will work best for the conditions and the look I’m creating, rather than sticking to one specific stock throughout the whole wedding.
