Liz and Kyle came to London from Texas, and their session was such a special one. Liz was in the city for work for a couple of months, and Kyle flew over to spend the holidays with her. While he was here, they wanted to celebrate their engagement with a relaxed London couple photoshoot around some of the most iconic spots in Westminster. Their final gallery is a mix of colour and black & white images, captured on both digital and 35mm film, telling the story of a winter morning in London and this exciting chapter of their lives.
We met at 8am in the freezing January cold, but it was completely worth it for the quiet streets and soft winter light. We started in a small park tucked behind Westminster. It was empty, peaceful, and perfect for a fun, movement-based start. From there, you could already see Big Ben in the background, which gave us that classic London feel without the crowds.
Next, we headed down towards the river by Westminster Bridge, photographing under the arch and along the Thames for a mix of dramatic frames and intimate close-ups. After that, we moved onto Westminster Bridge itself, capturing wide landmark shots with the Houses of Parliament behind them, as well as more romantic portraits with the city stretching out around us.
Of course, we couldn’t miss the London classic — the red telephone box. We stopped for a few frames where you get both the booth and Big Ben in one shot, which is always such a favourite for anyone wanting that instantly recognisable London look.
To finish, we headed into a quieter street around Westminster, away from the touristy vibe, for something more calm and romantic — and wrapped up the session outside a beautiful pub for those cosy, editorial city moments.
If you’re visiting London (or living here for a season) and want photos that feel modern, romantic, and real, I’d love to photograph you. I shoot couples, engagements, and weddings across London, and I can help you plan a route that includes the landmarks while still keeping everything relaxed and fun.
