While I was back in Brazil on holiday, I had the absolute joy of second shooting a beautiful wedding for my dear photographer friend @juliomoraesfotografo — and what a day it was.
Rafael and Thaina got married at the stunning Botânico Quintal, a lush greenhouse-style venue that feels like a secret garden in the middle of the city. If you’re dreaming of a tropical, botanical, emotional wedding day — this venue truly delivers.
Groom Getting Ready in São Paulo
The day began at Rafael’s flat, where he got ready surrounded by his dad, brother and closest friends. The atmosphere was relaxed, full of laughter, hugs, and those quiet reflective moments before everything changes.
They were all so present with him — adjusting his jacket, straightening his collar, helping with cufflinks, checking every small detail. It wasn’t rushed or chaotic; it felt intentional. Everyone wanted to make sure he felt confident and ready. You could see how much it meant to them to play a part in that moment.
There’s something really special about documenting the groom’s side of the morning — the buttoning of the shirt, tying the tie, the proud look from a father, the nervous smiles exchanged between brothers.
These are the moments that often go unseen, but they carry so much meaning.

Botânico Quintal already feels cinematic with its glass ceiling, layered greenery and warm lighting, but Rafael & Thaina made the space truly their own through thoughtful styling.
The décor embraced soft blue hydrangeas and natural textures that blended beautifully with the greenhouse setting. The cake was framed by lush florals, while the reception tables were styled with woven placemats, elegant glassware and organic centrepieces that added height and movement without overwhelming the space.
One of the most meaningful touches was their sweets table, filled with traditional Brazilian treats such as brigadeiros and beijinhos. Beautifully displayed among florals and greenery, it added both cultural identity and warmth to the celebration.
Every detail felt cohesive, romantic and deeply personal.
Handwritten Letters Before “I Do”
Before the ceremony began, Rafael & Thaina chose to share a deeply meaningful moment — delivering handwritten letters to their closest family members.
It was intimate, emotional and completely unscripted.
There were tears, long hugs and the kind of eye contact that says more than words ever could. It felt like a pause in time before everything officially began. A way to honour the people who shaped them before stepping into their new chapter together.
Moments like this add such depth to a wedding day — they transform it from a celebration into something profoundly personal.
A Greenhouse Ceremony at Botânico Quintal
The ceremony unfolded under the greenhouse ceiling, with natural light filtering through the glass and chandeliers glowing softly above.
As Thaina walked down the aisle, the emotion in the room was immediate. Guests leaned forward, hands clasped, eyes shining. Their vows were heartfelt and sincere, surrounded by lush greenery that framed the entire scene.
The setting made it feel almost cinematic — romantic, intimate and full of warmth.
Garden Portraits
After the ceremony, we explored the garden corners of Botânico Quintal for portraits.
Surrounded by climbing vines, textured brick walls and soft greenery, Rafael & Thaina moved naturally together — laughing, holding hands and soaking in the moment. The greenhouse light created the most beautiful, even glow, making everything feel warm and intimate.
One of the most joyful moments was their confetti toss. As they walked hand in hand, guests showered them with confetti, filling the air with movement and colour. It added such a spontaneous, celebratory energy to the portraits — those in-between frames where they’re laughing mid-step, brushing confetti from their hair, completely present.
It was playful, emotional and effortlessly them.
An Unforgettable Brazilian Celebration
As the evening unfolded, the energy shifted beautifully.
The dance floor filled quickly, the music got louder and the celebration became electric. A live pagode band brought that unmistakable Brazilian rhythm, pulling everyone in — guests singing loudly, forming spontaneous dance circles and completely letting go. Because brazilians truly know how to party.
They also had a vintage-style phone where guests could leave voice messages throughout the night. Between songs and laughter, friends and family picked up the receiver to share memories and heartfelt words — little audio time capsules the couple will treasure for years to come.
Champagne sprays, endless dancing and pure joy — vibrant, emotional and unforgettable.
Some weddings stay with you — not just because of the venue or the celebration, but because of the people and the energy they bring into the room.
