Rhys and Brook’s wedding at York House Registry Office was the perfect example of why this is one of the most beautiful venues for couples planning an intimate London wedding.
Photographed in a mix of digital and 35mm film, their day felt timeless from start to finish — soft spring light, romantic interiors, and genuine moments that felt even more nostalgic captured on film.
From the elegant pink ceremony room to the blooming gardens, every part of the day felt relaxed, emotional, and beautifully personal.
Groom Portraits & A Spring First Look at York House
The day began with Rhys arriving first at York House, which gave us the perfect opportunity for some relaxed groom and groomsmen portraits before guests started gathering.
Shortly after, Brook arrived, and before the ceremony we created one of the sweetest moments of the day — their first look outside York House beneath a blooming white spring tree.
The blossom was absolutely beautiful and gave the whole moment such a soft, romantic London spring feeling.
This is one of the things I love most about York House weddings: even before the ceremony begins, the surroundings already offer beautiful spaces for emotional portraits.
Guests Arriving & Ceremony in The Salon
As guests gathered around York House, I captured lots of natural candid moments before everyone moved into The Salon, York House’s iconic pink ceremony room.
And honestly, this is one of the most beautiful ceremony settings I’ve photographed for a London wedding.
The soft blush walls, ornate detailing, chandeliers, and elegant natural light make it feel timeless and editorial while still feeling intimate.
Rhys and Brook’s ceremony was full of emotion, beautiful reactions from family and friends, and those quiet in-between glances that make a wedding story feel deeply personal.
For couples looking for a London registry office wedding with character, The Salon is such a dream.
Confetti & Family Photos at the Back of York House
Right after the ceremony, everyone gathered in the back part of York House for confetti, which worked beautifully as it kept everyone together in one elegant space.
We stayed in the same area for their group photos, making the flow of the day feel easy and relaxed.
This part of York House is perfect for family portraits because it keeps the beautiful architecture in the background while still feeling private enough for those meaningful moments.
And then, in true London fashion, the weather suddenly changed and it started raining heavily. We all ended up running back inside together, which honestly added such a fun and spontaneous energy to this part of the day.
Those little unexpected moments are often the ones couples remember most, and it naturally led us into the next part of the celebration inside the beautiful conservatory space.
Drinks Reception in the Greenhouse Conservatory
After the formal photos, they spent time relaxing with guests during cocktails in the greenhouse-style conservatory space at York House.
This part of the day felt so natural and documentary-led — guests chatting, hugs, laughter, families connecting, and those little in-between moments that say so much about the atmosphere of the wedding.
We also created some beautiful portraits of them in this bright conservatory setting, which added another elegant layer to the gallery.
Exploring the York House Gardens for Couple Portraits
Once guests moved to their second location, I stayed behind with Rhys and Brook to fully explore the York House surroundings for portraits.
This is where the venue becomes so special.
We used the blooming spring trees, soft afternoon light, the bridge, the beautiful arched walkway, and the iconic front façade of York House.
The variety you can get here without leaving the venue is incredible.
For London couples who want both classic architecture and spring greenery, York House is honestly one of the dreamiest intimate wedding venues.
